LEAVE THE FAMILIAR, BREAK NEW GROUNDS! – Pastor Folami Fawehinmi

Hymn:-

I’m pressing on the upward way,
New heights I’m gaining every day;
Still praying as I onward bound,
“Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.”

Chorus:
Lord, lift me up, and let me stand
By faith on Canaan’s tableland;
A higher plane than I have found,
Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.

My heart has no desire to stay
Where doubts arise and fears dismay;
Though some may dwell where these abound,
My prayer, my aim, is higher ground.

I want to live above the world,
Though Satan’s darts at me are hurled;
For faith has caught the joyful sound,
The song of saints on higher ground.

I want to scale the utmost height
And catch a gleam of glory bright;
But still I’ll pray till rest I’ve found,
“Lord, lead me on to higher ground”

Texts –
– Deuteronomy 2:3
– Hosea 10:12
– Psalm 23:6
– Proverbs 4:18

If you look at the miracles of our Lord Jesus, you will agree with me that they have a common thread….which is: LEAVE YOUR HORRIBLE PAST….THE BEST IS ALWAYS AHEAD.

JESUS HATED STAGNATION WITH PASSION.

Let us recall his miracles.

His miracles are progressive.

God too in all we have seen of Him hates stagnation and retrogression. Once He sees people in bondage or captivity, He wants to set them free.

Apart from that, all the people God uses greatly to work His works on earth, are people who are ready to explore unfamiliar grounds:
– Abram (Abraham)
– Moses
– David
– Esther
– Joseph
– Daniel
– Jacob
– Paul
– Peter

These guys all had funny and unremarkable pasts. But they were all willing to break their fallow grounds.

That’s why a number of stories and scriptures point to a better tomorrow. A future full of hope. Jer 29:11.

If that be the case then, why are we afraid to leave the familiar and break our fallow grounds for the golds?

Why can’t we launch out to new ventures?
Why are we so attached to the familiar?
Why are we so afraid to take steps of faith?

In doing this, you go into the unfamiliar territories following a familiar leading.

You don’t just jump into the lions den without a sure familiar voice leading you.

What is God telling you?

What is that gentle inner voice telling you?

Those who have made it in life have made it by VENTURING.

Let us wrap up with the story of Elisha.

1 Kings 19:19-20 – nkjv

God told the prophet Elijah to anoint Elisha to succeed him as prophet.

Elisha Had a secure future in the family business that would be turned over to him one day.

But when Elijah put his mantle around Elisha, something came alive in Elisha’s spirit.

Today, is your moment too as I place this mantle upon you.

Immediately the mantle touched him and his spirit arose, he knew that he was supposed to leave the FAMILIAR to the UNKNOWN.

But hear me…..IT WAS SCARY!!!

I know treading  into the unknown can be really scary. But if God is the one leading you…..no shaking!!!!

THOUGH I WALK THRU HE VALLEY OF THE SHADOW OF DEATH….I WILL FEAR NO EVIL…..FOR THOU ART WITH ME, THY ROD AND THY STAFF…..TNEY COMFORT ME…..

ALLELUIA!!!!!

It was a scary moment in Elisha’s life. Leaving pleasure for uncertainty…..but inspite of that fear something down in his spirit said :

“THIS IS YOUR DESTINY MOMENT. STEP OUT IN FAITH”

So, he did!

And the rest is history.

Les Brown, the world acclaimed leading motivational speaker toed this path too to stardom.

Hear me as I close,
Some opportunities don’t come a second time.

Life is too short to settle for things that you know are less than what is in you.

The image of what God is showing you in your glorious future may be too big that it scares you, but if you take that step of faith towards that dream, that imagination, that vision, that aspiration…..

YOU WILL DISCOVER THAT GOD SCARED YOU INTO GREATNESS!!!

He scared you into BREAKING NEW GROUNDS, NEW HORIZONS, NEW LEVELS, NEW RECORDS THAT NO ONE IN YOUR FAMILY EVER ATTAINED….

What are you waiting for????

Take that step now….

Make that move…..

Esau sought for the opportunity of a blessing from his father even with hot tears, but the only thing he got was if you can be restless…….then this yoke upon you will break….

Go restless,
move ahead,
Step into your Red Sea…
Push down the mountains….

2021 – OUR YEAR OF 7-FOLD RESTORATION. – Pastor Folami Fawehinmi

Sermon – new year message

Hymn:-

I’m pressing on the upward way,
New heights I’m gaining every day;
Still praying as I onward bound,
“Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.”

Chorus:
Lord, lift me up, and let me stand
By faith on Canaan’s tableland;
A higher plane than I have found,
Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.

My heart has no desire to stay
Where doubts arise and fears dismay;
Though some may dwell where these abound,
My prayer, my aim, is higher ground.

I want to live above the world,
Though Satan’s darts at me are hurled;
For faith has caught the joyful sound,
The song of saints on higher ground.

I want to scale the utmost height
And catch a gleam of glory bright;
But still I’ll pray till rest I’ve found,
“Lord, lead me on to higher ground”

Let me give you the vision of what the ideal 2021 will be so that it will be the picture of what to expect no matter what the enemy tries.

Deuteronomy 11:10-16

Deuteronomy 8:7-18

Deuteronomy 14:1,2

Definition of “Sevenfold”

The word “sevenfold” carries the number 7. The number 7 appears very frequently in the Bible and the word “sevenfold” appears 6 times in the Bible.

The word “sevenfold” like the number 7 represents FULL, COMPLETE, PERFECT.

So when the Bible talks about “sevenfold payback”, it is referring to a FULL, COMPLETE AND PERFECT PAYBACK/COMPENSATION.

Joel 2:25

All the years…..up to 7 years back……God says He will give to us the last 7 years misses, near-successes, disappointments, losses, demotions, health challenges, failures, financial challenges and debts etc…..as 7-fold recoveries and restoration.

How did He point this out to me?

Proverbs 6:30, 31

There are many things that are stolen from us as believers in Jesus Christ, many times without us even knowing it. The Bible tells us that the enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy but Jesus has come that we might receive life and more abundantly (John 10:10).

Sometimes the thief comes to steal our joy, peace, health, finances, relationships and so forth. Sometimes, you may have dreams of losing things and it manifests in the natural realm. The question then is, how do we get those things back?

It is by DEMAND and DECREES.

Thou shall DECREE a thing and IT SHALL be established – Job 22:28

Year 2020 stole from us.

Stole our freedom, stole lives, stole blessings, stole jobs, stole peace, stole marriages, stole businesses and careers, academics, stole cars and houses…..all that ought to come to us in 2020 but which were denied us were stolen by 2020,

So, 2020 is a thief that was caught and it must repay 7-fold to each of us what it has stolen.

Begin to demand now from 2020 what it stole.

7-fold recoveries and restoration of freedom, lives, blessings, jobs, peace, marriages, businesses and careers,
academics, cars and houses etc…

Let us look at another wonderful scripture that promises  us 7-fold restoration.

Psalm 79: 12…. Return sevenfold into the laps of our neighbours the taunts which they have taunted you O God.

Lets look at the message translation.

May I show you more scriptures that you all will use to ride upon the year 2021 in bliss and in pageantry for seven-fold restoration?

Genesis 4:15 – no matter your misconducts as a child of God, your Cain is not in the hands of your enemies. Whoever tries it will receive seven-fold punishment from God.

Decree for Seven-Fold Restoration

“Heavenly Father, show me where the thief has tried to rob from my life. Right now I pray blessing, love, well-being, protection, and provision upon every person that has hurt me. I choose to walk in love. I speak blessing over them and forgive them, in Jesus name. I release them into Your hands. I command everything that the thief has taken to be restored in Jesus name.  I command the thief to repay seven times what he stole. In Jesus name, I command every fine to be paid and I empty the storehouse of the thief! I command the thief to restore seven times everything that he has ever taken from me, in Jesus name. Amen.”

As I round up listen to this:

Passivity regarding the promises of the Word of God will leave God’s intended blessing resting upon the pages of the Bible and will cause us to move into the place of self-preservation, trying desperately to do our best in life to just get by. And unfortunately, the result of this on-going passivity will generally cause one to go from crisis to crisis, never quite understanding why, and with the victory always just beyond our grasp.

But those who come to the realization that the promises are genuine and pertinent for us today, will wrap their arms of faith around them and pull them off of the pages of the Bible, refusing to let them go, until all things become just as the Word declares them to be. They refuse to take the devil’s “these are not for you” as an answer, and adopt an “I will not be denied” attitude. They are convinced that if they see it written within the Word of God, then those promises belong to them! I call this tenacious and aggressive stand of determination – bulldog faith.

These are the people I see over and over getting results

May God give us great results in 2021 and beyond.
